If you don't know the area and are coming from far away, and with current serious roadworks on A1 it is best to approach from the A19 where possible and come off at the junction that says Killingworth, go down "Killingworth Way" (A1056), straight over the first roundabout and then left at the second roundabout. Go down the B1505, take the first left, then almost instantly right into West Bailey at a roundabout, and then right into the car park. The boat house is adjacent to the car park, and you can rig you boat in the car park. this is one the North West side of the lake. It is announced through brown tourist information signs for "Boating Lake" from several of the approaching roads surrounding Killingworth.

Car Parking
There are three car parks located to access Killingworth Lakeside Park. The one you want is:
Lakeshore Car Park, West Bailey East, NE12 6TN - 20 spaces, free parking all day, 3.5 tonne weight limit.
