Sooper Trooper was built with this chart
table from new, deciding to abandon the small bunk / large seat
on the port side of cabin. There is still a very usable seat
aft of the table, both for general use and for work at the chart
table.. I gather it works very well. |

On Manrique, the main cabin table doubles
up as a chart table when needed, though I think they also have
a board than can be taken on deck if needed. this photo also
shows the "trotter locker" into the port cupboard
to make the small berth effectively longer. I gather this is
only so good as it gets very narrow. |

Woolfee's chart table is more typical
of a Mk 1 boat, being at the front of the port quarter berth,
and next to the cooker. |

Photo of Mk1 SW, with a chart table
fitted at end of port quarter birth. Like Woolfee, this layout
gives more sleeping area, but less seating area. Also the
cockpit locker will have less storage area. Looks very well
made!
The photo was taken from a web site advertising
this boat for sale as of 29/5/2007, and the brokers were:
Clarke
& Carter Interyacht Ltd.. |

Rosa came to me with no chart table,
so I have converted the small bunk into a chart table and a
small seat, much in the mode of Sooper Trooper. I did consider
putting a folding table off the starboard mast bulkhead, but
decided a more permanent feature was better, especially as it
can still seat 4 or 5 at a push. I would have liked to "magic"
up another berth from somewhere, but couldn't mamage that. |
|

Part finished chart table of Rosa, with
useful storage space. Also planed is a pivoting stool that will
fold under the table, and a drawer. The storgage area above
the table is very unfinished. so far, I have found standing
at the table very good, and this, I'm sure will double as a
food preparation area. The Chart Plotter is removed for security,
but is viewable to anyone with sharp sight from the cockpit.
I now have a relay of GPS info. to the cockpit. |
Jasmine has a very simple and ingenious
removable chart table in similar position to Woolfees. |
